What you say is what you get

Both those who say they can, or can’t, are right. Genesis 1 states: God created the heavens and the earth. What did He use to create the heavens and the earth? The spoken word. The very words that God spoke out of His mouth framed this universe, set it all in motion and it still stands today – in obedience to the words He uttered.

God’s word is just as powerful today as it was the day that He spoke it. Not one ounce of power has left them. His creative power is still in His word, just as it was when He stood there in the beginning of time and said: “Let there be light,” and light manifested.

I want you to realise that you were created in the image of God. God spoke this world into existence. If it worked for Him, why wouldn’t it work for you and me? In any situation, what we speak is what will happen. If we speak the word of God into our situations, we speak Jesus – the word that became flesh (Read John 1). Can you think of a better way to win a battle, or to overcome any obstacle, than to allow Jesus Christ to take care of it for you? I honestly can’t. Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today and forever and His word is the final authority. If His word says that by His stripes we are healed, then we are healed.

My beloved sister, start speaking healing into your body. Believe the words you say. Believe God’s word. See the positive, God-breathed fruit in your life.

Just ponder for a moment: are you currently battling a situation? What are the words coming out of your mouth regarding that situation? Do you speak life or death? Positive or negative? Are you perhaps eating the fruit of the words you have spoken a month or a year ago?

The word of God that is conceived in your heart, then formed by the tongue, and finally spoken out of your own mouth, becomes a spiritual force, releasing the ability of God within you. That’s why Paul said in Philippians 4:13: “I can do all things through Christ which strengthens me”. His heart (spirit) had received God’s word. It was not Paul’s ability that made him say that, but the ability of God formed in him by the word, and out of the abundance of His heart, his mouth spoke.

Life and death are in the power of the tongue and what you say is what you are going to get. You are the words you speak, so choose to speak life!
